Workflow

After confirming your project with any of our commercial managers, one of our project managers will contact you through email or IM software preferably, explaining all the steps to follow.

Given the complexity and number of projects we manage, we prefer email or IM to the use of phone since they make communication and explanation of project details easier and diminish the probabilities of misunderstandings. An email or chat transcript gives both parties a written proof in the case of issues in the development. Of course, you can always reach us on our toll free line if you need to talk to us.

Officially, we work Mon-Fri 7:00 am to 4:00 pm EST of US, but we can usually be found up to 6:00 pm EST or more.

All projects usually start with an information-gathering phase. We will require information about your business, past graphic designs or web work, project objectives, audience, competition, aesthetical preferences, etc.

On projects comprising graphics design work and depending on each particular project, one or various mockups are delivered. Feedback is requested, and then successive revisions (or complete reworks if needed) are re-delivered till we reach the objective.

The technologies that are going to be used for the project will be chosen by our team, based on our experience with them, availability, budget, future, and ease of development and maintenance. IMPORTANT: If you have special preferences or requirements, please let us know in advance.

If the project involves coding work, the development of this work will be shown as each of its successive phases takes place, or when our project manager needs feedback. Although we are happy to show the development of your project as it advances, sometimes the amount of work needed to show it is high, or it cannot be shown due to technical reasons. In such cases, we will continue to work on the project and show its development as soon as possible, informing the client of the reasons and providing an estimated date when the situation will be reversed.


Revisions

We deliver unlimited revisions of the graphic designs until you are completely satisfied with our work. Revisions should be eventually requested with the reasons why it did not fulfill your expectations, as this information is vital for the next round of revisions.

On projects incorporating programming, we will ask for your confirmation on structural functioning before coding starts, as revisions on the structure of a coding piece are subject to our approval.


Commercial terms

At least the contrary is specified, we will ask for a 50% down payment to our first time clients to start a project. We apologize for the inconvenience this might cause, but unfortunately we need to do this to lower fraud rates, and so, deliver a higher quality service to our existing clients. We appreciate your comprehension.

Source files are delivered after full payment which is required after the project finishes and the client is notified. Only LOG’s well known clients will be delivered the source files without full payment in case of emergency and at their request.

For medium and large projects, we can provide flexible payment terms if needed.


Payment methods

Payment is usually requested through 2Checkout or Paypal. Alternate methods include bank checks or wire transfers, although we need the funds cleared in our account to start.

2Checkout is a payment portal that is similar to Paypal, through which you will be able to pay with your credit card. It is one of the largest payment gateways; it is very secure and easy to use: you will receive an email containing a link from one of our billing department. It will lead you to a secure web page in which you will be able to enter your credit card information. Then it will be validated and we will receive a notification of your payment. Payment fees for the usage of the portal are 100% paid by LOG Technology Consulting.

Paypal is the biggest payment portal in the Internet, through which you will be able to pay with your credit card, or with your existing Paypal account. Paypal is very secure and easy to use: you will receive an email containing a link from one our billing department. Payment fees for the usage of the portal are 100% paid by LOG Technology Consulting.

If any other method of payment is preferred, this must be communicated before hiring our services, so that we check whether it is feasible or not.


Timeframe

We do our best efforts to improve our quality, price and delivery times, three variables that are the basics of our company. We believe each project, as probably most of the things in life, is the result of these variables: you cannot pretend changing one of them without the others to be changed.

If you want the best car, you will have to pay more for it, and production times will be longer. You probably do not mind purchasing an expensive wine if you want to celebrate something important... or do not mind the economical newspaper not being printed on a glossy book-like paper.

The same logic applies in our design and development services: of course, we strieve to deliver the highest-quality available, while being very affordable, and reasonable in our delivery times.

Graphic design: current delivery times are usually 72 business hours max for first mockups, and 48 business hours max for revisions. However, timeframes can vary because of workload just as any artistic development.

Programming: delivery times of coding work can be better estimated. They depend on each particular project.

In case of emergency, we can have multiple professionals working on your project and meeting very tight deadlines. However, fees will be higher due to this fact.

Make sure you communicate your expectations of time, quality and pricing for your project before hiring our services. We will do our best to fulfill all your particular requirements.


Delivery files

Deliverables are usually the result of the work on the source files (however, in the case of certain projects, deliverables are actually the source files). All deliverables and source files are usually sent via email or placed in web locations for downloading.

Web development projects are set up at the web location selected by the client.

Deliverables: We can work with industry-standard formats for deliverables. Our team will deliver files according to the most suitable formats, if the client has no special preference.

Upon full payment, we will also deliver, apart from the deliverables, all source files that were used to develop the project. This is very important and will give you freedom to make future revisions.

If no special software for the project source files is specified, our team will select the best software for this application. We usually prefer Adobe Photoshop CS and Adobe Illustrator CS for most of our web/graphic work, but we use other formats for editorial design (Quark), animation (Flash), sound and 3D rendering.


Copyrights

Clients get full copyrights, including unlimited usage of the site, modification & editing of all the work done by LOG, except for:

LOG's proprietary web administration / content management system, known as ABM, and LOG's proprietary components (DLLs) are delivered with a multi-user license for the site and task it was configured for. Any other usage without the written permission of LOG is prohibited, including, but not restricted to selling, usage in other sites, modifications, disassembly, reconfiguration, etc.

Stock photography. We use royalty-free stock photography for most of our work. Under no circumstances will LOG assume responsibility for the usage of any copyrighted material provided by the client.

Third party software used is, of course, subject to its own copyright policies.

We keep the right to show our work under our own portfolio as part of our marketing strategies. If you wish your work not to be shown as part of our marketing portfolio, this must be communicated prior to the hiring of the project.


Privacy Policy

As developers we are continuously managing vital information for your project and business and we understand your concern. Sometimes it is information about your customers, sometimes credit card numbers or confidential documents, sometimes part of your business know-how...

Every message, conversation, file or data you send regarding your business is kept strictly confidential by our company. Under no circumstances we reveal, sell or use this information for any other purpose than for developing the project.

For web development projects, we provide free upgrades to our components and admin system several times a year. There is a functionality developed to inform us of current version number, website health, etc. built into our admin system, which does not transmit any confidential data.


Guarantee

Your satisfaction is guaranteed!

We do our best to avoid bugs in our codes, typos or other issues in our design projects. However, in such cases, we will fix them at no charge. This guarantee protects you if the work was defective at delivery time (and not because of changing environments).

We are happy to do small revisions even after delivering the project at no extra charge. If changes need to be immediate, working time exceeds half an hour or repetitive revisions are requested, we may charge a low hourly rate, which is notified to the client prior to doing the work.


Refund policy

We will always refund 100% of the deposit in the case the project is cancelled by any party, prior to the delivery of the first files. No questions asked.

Once the first concepts are sent by our team, we will refund 100% of the deposit minus a service fee ($100 or 20% of the project, whichever is higher). This is to prevent resellers or other graphic design companies asking for concepts and then continue with the project if their client accepts them.

If project progress goes over the first concepts, any refund will be decided by LOG - depending on the work done.

Under normal circumstances, refunds take around a week.


Hosting platforms

On web development projects, it is important to know if your project needs to meet certain hosting specifications. Although we can provide excellent US-based hosting services, you might have already hired a specific hosting platform, which may or may not fulfill the requirements needed by our staff. In the case you already have a hosting hired, please let our commercial managers know about this before starting the project.

The logic in purchasing hosting is first to know your project requirements, and then purchase it according to these specifications. However, we have seen, many times, that people purchase hosting beforehand (probably by marketing of domain name registrars).

Some of the specialized functionalities of our websites, especially those related to web portals and other large websites, will probably involve hosting requirements that cannot be offered by non-specialized hosting companies.
